The electronic cigarette providers at UK-based firm, Nicolites, have responded to news that fake cigarettes are causing significant health and financial danger to the country.
Investigators in the tobacco industry have spent weeks examining the fake cigarette situation which appears to be taking the country by storm. It has been reported* that specialists from a Swiss-based brand protection company, MS intelligence, operating in Birmingham found that Brits are regularly smoking fake cigarettes found to contain human excrement, asbestos mould and even dead flies. Around a third of packets were found to have contained fakes or cigarettes brought in by smugglers and those smoking counterfeit cigarettes have been warned about the huge health risks involved.
Regularly undertaking their own research into new studies and experiments, the results of this investigation sparked a significant reaction amongst the team at Nicolites. Managing Director, Nikhil Nathwani, further stresses the dangers of fake cigarettes.
“The findings from this incident are really quite shocking and come with serious health implications. One of the benefits of using electronic cigarettes is that not only are users not subjected to the harmful effects of tobacco but are also safeguarded against the possibility of unknown and hazardous ingredients,” explains Nikhil.
Nikhil goes on to explain how the consequences of these fake cigarettes impact not only on health but also the nation’s economy.
“It has been reported that non UK duty paid cigarettes cost the taxpayer up to £3.6billion in revenue during 2009-10. Not only do electronic cigarettes save the individual a considerable amount of money but they also stand to save the national economy a considerable amount on the 1,200 admitted to hospital caused by smoking every day.”
Nicolites is now the leading and most widely available brand of electric cigarette in the UK; they have formed business partnerships with many of the largest retailers to bring these wonderful innovations right on to the doorstep of every person in the country. Established in late 2007, Nicolites has grown into a multi-million pound company with international distribution networks and continues to grow at a phenomenal rate.
