More than 100,000 counterfeit cigarettes went up in smoke when the truck trafficking them through Bulgaria burst into flames, say police.
Witnesses in Kilifarevo say they saw two men fleeing from the lorry as flames began shooting from the engine bay.
“They were mostly fake Winston and Pearl cigarettes made very cheaply out of the worse tobacco and got knows what else and sold as the real thing,” said one officer.
“It is a huge problem here. These cigarettes are full of poisonous chemicals and additives that make them even worse for your health than the real thing,” he added.
