Three factories sealed for ‘fake cigarettes’

On orders of Khyber Agency political agent Safeer Ullah Wazeer, the Barah tehsildar, along with heavy force of Frontier Levies Khassdar Force, raided on and sealed three factories involved in manufacturing fake cigarettes.

Six persons were arrested while FIRs, under FCR, was registered against three tobacco companies owned by Waris Khan, Mohammad Ali Shenwari and Abdul Qayyum.

Stocks of counterfeited cigarettes of various brands were confiscated from the warehouses of Shah Alam Market.

On the basis of these FIRs, the Punjab inspector general of police (IGP) asked the Khyber Agency political agent to take strict legal action against the factories as they were out of territorial jurisdiction of Punjab.

The political agent ordered the political Tehsildar of Barah for seizure of the factories and arrest of their owners.

The political Tehsildar sealed all three factories, arrested six persons and registered a case under FCR against them.

Later, the case was presented in the court of the Additional District Magistrate Barah, Rehan Khattak.

The court ordered seizure of the tobacco companies until the final decision and, issuing perpetual warrants of the arrest of the factory owners.
