New York City cigarette soldiers are smoking out illegal peddlers.

The city on Thursday obtained an order to padlock stores that sell untaxed and counterfeit-stamped cigarettes.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg first shuttered Quicklane Candy Store on E. 125th St. and Lexington Ave., making an example of it. The legal action resulted in the arrests of the unnamed shop owner and clerk, sources said. Both were booked on  misdemeanor charges.
