STERLING HEIGHTS (AP) >> A Rochester Hills man believed to be involved with a tobacco-smuggling ring in the Detroit area was arrested Tuesday by Michigan State Police.

Police say they seized $43,000 in untaxed cigars from a storage unit in Sterling Heights that may be linked to the group.

Police say a number of brands of cigars were seized.

Police say the man, whose name wasn’t immediately released, is believed to be part of a large, organized tobacco smuggling ring operating in the Detroit area.
