A former Prince George’s County police officer has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in selling thousands of dollars in untaxed cigarettes and cocaine to an undercover FBI agent.

Sinisa Simic, 30, plead guilty in 2011 to cocaine trafficking, extortion and firearm offenses. His arrest and conviction were part of a sweeping corruption probe that brought down county executive Jack B. Johnson along with three police officers and six others.

Simic received the longest sentence of the three officers, all of whom
were involved in a cigarette and alcohol smuggling ring, because he and
co-conspirator Mirza Kujundzic were also selling cocaine in an unrelated
scheme. Former police corporal Chong Chin Kim was sentenced to five years in prison for his role in the cigarette and alcohol conspiracy, and former sergeant Richard J. Delabrer to three years and 10 months.
