A provocative attempt to divert cigarettes in Latvia has taken on 3 July a group of inhabitants of Polotsk and Novopolotsk. It is reported by the press center of the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

If attempt of detention of the organizers of trafficking of cigarettes, the driver of the SUV has ignored the requirements of border patrol about stopping and attempted at high speed to escape. Considering the situation, the border guards were forced to take up arms to stop the vehicle or two warning shots into the air, and two on the wheels of the car.
