WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. – A New York man was arrested in Washington County after law enforcement agents seized 1,400 packs of contraband cigarettes from his cargo van.
Istavan Attila Nemeth, 69, of Sunnyside, N.Y., was taken into custody on Interstate-81 near I-70 on September 19th, after trying to smuggle cigarettes from Virginia into Maryland. The value of the seized cigarettes was over $9,000.
