Customs officers came across more than seven million illegal cigarettes in a cargo truck in Riga, informs LETA.
The State Revenue Service announced that a “Mercedes Benz” cargo truck containing 7,200,000 “Goal” brand cigarettes without any excise duty labels was detained in Riga, Braslas Street. The driver explained that the cargo was loaded in a warehouse in Riga on October 10 afternoon. The truck departed on October 13 morning.
Customs officers also found out that no dispatch note was recorded in the warehouse’s inventory system.
