One of the victims in a series of high-dollar armed robberies of area “cigarette distributors” has been charged with cigarette smuggling-related crimes.
Maher Mustafa, 31, owner of The Cigarette Outlet Inc. in the 7900 block of West Broad Street, has been charged in a federal criminal complaint alleging that he failed to report cash transactions of $10,000 or more. In a six-month period his company’s business account had more than 90 such cash deposits totaling more than $14 million.
