Two people were arrested while transporting 600,000 packets of cigarettes smuggled from Paraguay in Alto Paraiso, in northwestern Paraná, in the early hours of Monday (22).
According to the Military Police (PM), an anonymous tip said two fuel trucks were loaded with cigarettes.
The first vehicle was stopped by police after the driver has left the farm where the cigarettes were loaded, according to the PM. After arresting the driver and the passenger, the PM went to the farm and found the second truck loaded with merchandise. No one was arrested on the spot.
