The ringleader of a large untaxed cigarette trafficking enterprise will spend up to 12 years in prison for dodging millions in New York state taxes and pocketing millions in illegal proceeds.

After a lengthy bench trial, Basel Ramadan was found guilty on 198 counts of enterprise corruption, money laundering and evading $5.3 million in taxes.
