Two people have been charged after over 306 kg of contraband shisha tobacco, contraband cigarettes, and flavoured cigars were seized from a city convenience store by the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC).

Hiwot Atnafu and Alemayehu (Alex) Girma are facing charges of fraud over $5,000 and trafficking in contraband tobacco as well as charges under the provincial Tobacco Tax Act for possession of more than 1,000 grams of tobacco. Both are to appear in Edmonton Provincial Court on March 16.
