BUFFALO — A traffic stop by a Genesee County sheriff’s deputy in Pembroke in February has led to federal charges against a man accused of transporting a million untaxed cigarettes.

Deputy Lonnie Nati stopped Tarbell, who was driving a truck pulling a trailer, on Route 77 on Feb. 16. Nati found 4,800 cartons of untaxed cigarettes, equaling 960,000 single cigarettes.
