RIDGEFIELD — Two New York City men who called police to report being assaulted and robbed of thousands of dollars worth of items at a New Jersey Turnpike rest stop were charged with trafficking in untaxed cigarettes Wednesday, the state police said.
Ibrahima Barry, 56, and his 28-year-old nephew, Abdourahamane Barry, told police that five to six men assaulted and robbed them as they sat in their Dodge Caravan at the Vince Lombardi rest stop shortly before 3:30 a.m., said a state police spokesman, Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams.
