Consumers Warn Fellow Smokers on the Hazards of Counterfeit Cigarettes, Will the Government Follow Suit?

Editor’s Note: Consumers are concerned about the extremely elevated health risks posed by counterfeit cigarettes compared with legal products and are warning their fellow smokers via social media, see below. The crowd-sourced information available about counterfeit and other illegally-manufactured cigarettes may not always be accurate. The FDA needs to step in and provide the public with (1) factual, up-to-date information on the elevated health hazards from illegally made cigarettes, (2) tips on how to identify illegally-manufactured cigarettes and (3) a law enforcement contact to notify about the sale of illegally-manufactured cigarettes.
