Two traffic stops result in seizure of 200,000 illegal cigarettes
Three men have been arrested in connection with two seizures of illegal cigarettes by the RCMP in New Brunswick.
On May 30, around 2 p.m., West District RCMP and the RCMP Roving Traffic Unit stopped a vehicle during a checkstop on Highway 2 in Waterville, near the Hartland exit. The next day, around 11 a.m., police stopped a different vehicle on Highway 2, in Saint-Jacques, N.B. near the Quebec border. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 140,000 illegal cigarettes.
