A Pontypool man has been fined and made to carry out 60 hours of unpaid community work after he was caught selling counterfeit cigarettes.

Councillor Fiona Cross, executive member for the environment at Torfaen council, said: “This sentence is a clear indication how seriously these offences are viewed by the court. Counterfeit tobacco has been found to contain dangerously high levels of toxic chemicals, bits of wood, sawdust and other fillers, and even rat droppings.
