BRIDGEPORT – Three area store owners were arrested after police said they found counterfeit tax stamps on cartons of cigarettes during inspections by the state Department of Revenue Services.

Saleh Aobad, 51, of Bronx, N.Y., the owner of Family Discount on Success Avenue in Stratford, was charged Tuesday with possession of fraudulent tax stamps, possession/sale of untaxed cigarettes and sale of loose cigarettes.
