London’s deputy fire chief is again sounding the alarm on careless smoking and contraband tobacco after both were blamed for a blaze that left a man critically injured.
Firefighters were called Monday morning to a multi-unit home at 360 Princess Ave., where a fire had torn through the upper floor. A man who escaped the blaze had third-degree burns – the chair he was sitting in burst into flames – and remained in hospital in critical condition Thursday, though he’s expected to survive, firefighters said.
