Group fighting illegal tobacco

BELLEVILLE – The Friendly City sits right on Ontario’s “contraband trail”.
On Monday Gary Grant, national spokesperson for the National Contraband Tobacco (NCACT), visited Belleville, along with three other municipalities, to meet with law enforcement groups as well as municipal, provincial and federal decision makers to discuss the challenges of illegal cigarettes.

These municipalities are some of the hardest hit by illegal cigarettes and, including another four municipalities Grant is visiting on Tuesday, make up what the organization is dubbing the “contraband trail.”
