On the first anniversary of the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act of 2014, the next phase of its implementation begins.
To help federal agencies get closer to making their financial information more uniform and available – the DATA Act’s goal – the Office of Management and Budget and the Treasury Department issued 57 governmentwide standards for posting to USAspending.gov, according to a May 8 blog post from OMB and Treasury. Agencies have two years to break down data into categories such as how much congressional funding they get and how much they spend on projects and awards.
