Internet firms to be subject to new cybersecurity rules in EU

BRUSSELS (Reuters) – Internet firms similar to Cisco, Google and Amazon will be subject to a new EU cybersecurity regulation forcing them to undertake robust safety measures and probably report critical breaches to national authorities, in accordance to a doc seen by Reuters.

The so-referred to as Network and Information Security Directive has been caught in talks between member states and EU lawmakers due to disagreements over whether or not to embrace digital platforms resembling search engines like google and yahoo, social networks, e-commerce websites and cloud computing suppliers.
