Agency considers cybersecurity training program for small businesses

In an effort to improve the cybersecurity posture of all contractors doing business with the federal government – not just the largest companies on the federal payroll – the Small Business Administration published a request Jan. 7 for information on for-profit and not-for-profit service providers that could train small businesses in cybersecurity.

According to the notice, SBA is considering offering cybersecurity training to companies that participating in its 8(a) Small Business Development Program, which sets aside contracts for low-income and socially disadvantaged business owners and those operating in low-income/high-unemployment regions.
