DOD Wants to Save More Money Through Consolidation and Cloud
The Defense Department’s chief information officer, Terry Halvorsen, and DOD deputy chief management officer, Peter Levine, told a House Armed Services subcommittee on March 22 that while cybersecurity and commercial cloud are key information technology priorities, the Pentagon is pushing to save more money through data center consolidation.
According to the DOD website, Halvorsen and Levine said the biggest problem was “not enough money,” putting modernization at some risk.
