The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, which points out that inaccurate patient ID harms patient safety and challenges information exchange, says its effort to take matters into its own hands are moving forward, through its National Patient ID Challenge. “As we move into the Final Innovation Round, we are excited to see more details and new innovations emerge,” said a CHIME spokesman. “Eliminating the spending ban would free up HHS to work with industry on finding a solution for this important issue.”
