Electric utilities blast regulatory plan for addressing cyber supply-chain risks

The Edison Electric Institute has issued a resounding “no” to a request for support from regulators of the electricity grid for a plan on minimizing the cybersecurity risks from vendors and services provided to the power industry.

The group, which represents investor-owned electric utility companies, calls for a rewrite of the regulatory plan, which it criticizes generally as unworkable and misguided.
