U.S. Telecom calls for industry initiative on ‘consensus’ cyber framework metrics

The United States Telecom Association is urging the National Institute of Standards and Technology to initiate a new industry-led collaboration that would develop a “broad consensus” around how to measure the effectiveness of the federal framework of cybersecurity standards.

The process would mirror the 2013-2014 government-industry collaboration that led to “version 1.0” of the framework, which attracted extensive participation from major trade associations representing the critical infrastructure sectors and others.
