St. Jude also may have failed to properly investigate and prevent possible cybersecurity issues with its pacemakers and implantable defibrillators, according to the letter.

The FDA issued a notice in January that St. Jude’s implantable heart devices are vulnerable to cybersecurity attacks that might allow a third party to control the devices remotely.
