Opponents of cyber regulations take aim at FTC

A new “whiter paper” by the Federalist Society’s Regulatory Transparency Project takes a harsh line against regulating the internet and data, including what the paper describes as the expansive authority of the Federal Trade Commission.

“This paper illustrates the negative and sometimes unintended consequences that regulations can have on America’s most dynamic and fastest growing industry: the technology sector,” writes the paper’s authors, including Stewart Baker, partner at the law firm Steptoe & Johnson. . . .
