Federal Trade Commissioner Terrell McSweeny said the breach at the credit reporting agency Equifax underscores the need for enhancing FTC and other authorities to enforce cyber standards.
“The FTC and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ought to be taking a careful look at whether there should be stronger oversight of consumer reporting agencies,” McSweeny said in an exclusive interview with Inside Cybersecurity.
