NHTSA reviewing input on connected-car rule with cyber implications

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is reviewing industry and other stakeholders’ input on a proposed rulemaking requiring the use of vehicle-to-vehicle communications technology, which would create a “credential management system” for managing cybersecurity of connected cars.

NHTSA is still considering its next steps — according to a statement from NHTSA issued last week. . . .
