TODAY: FTC DATA SECURITY ACTIONS IN OVERSIGHT CROSSHAIRS — The Federal Trade Commission’s Section 5 actions against companies for data security lapses will be the hot topic before Rep. Darrell Issa’s Oversight Committee this morning. Issa has already asked the FTC inspector general to investigate whether the regulatory agency had an improper relationship with a cybersecurity company that helped in its investigation of LabMD, and whether the security firm provided false information.
