Treasury’s Raskin Convenes Top Regulators on Cybersecurity

WASHINGTON — The nation’s top financial policymakers gathered inside the U.S. Treasury Department last month to talk about protecting the financial system – not from speculative bubbles or exotic financial instruments, but from another threat: Hackers.

The gathering, convened by Treasury Deputy Secretary Sarah Bloom Raskin, is to be followed by three other meetings this year, demonstrating how cybersecurity has moved near the top of the list of regulators’ worries after a year in which attackers accessed information about 76 million customers of the nation’s largest bank, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.
