NRO Letter to ICANNfocus

Dear ICANNfocus,

In response to:

ICANN-ASO MOU: What Happened Between March and October? And Where Did Openness, Transparency and Documentation Go?

In this article you have made a rather grave error, by comparing the March 2004 version of the ASO MoU with the 1999 version of the ASO MoU, and not as you intended with the latest, October 2004, version.

The latest and now current version of the ASO MoU, which has signed on 21 October, is available on the NRO website at:

https://www.nro.net/documents/aso-mou.html

If you review this document, you will find that it is indeed very similar to the March 2004 draft. You will also find that it does contain the words regarding "open, transparent and documented procedures" which concerned you.

As your article bases some very critical conclusions on this fundamental misunderstanding I trust that you will retract it immediately and provide a new analysis, as soon as possible.

Thanks,

Paul Wilson
