The Other Side of the Story
Thank you for the opportunity to give my opinion. I realize that a long wheelbase vehicle provides a smooth ride and that a large vehicle is safer in an accident. But, as everyone knows there are two sides to every story. If you pay any attention to scientist studies, and I'm referring to real studies not bought results, you can quite plainly see that we have a serious problem with our natural environment. Our air, water and our ozone layer all are in bad shape. And without these things life on this planet will end. Obviously we can change things we do on a daily basis that have tremendous effect on our environment. When each of us does a little thing, it makes a big difference. I don't want to have to tell you, or anyone what they should or shouldn't do. In these times we have access to all the information we need to make wise, intelligent, moral decisions. I would like to see the auto industry create vehicles that produce as close no emissions as possible. I know they can do it, and I want it done now. As for my opinion on fuel mileage requirements on SUVs, I believe that new ones should be required to have the same as passenger cars. I also think that passenger cars requirements are not tough enough. I love my family, and if I could be around in 100 in 200 years I'm sure I'd love my great great great grand kids. And that is why we need to change the way we treat our planet, and for that matter how we treat each other. So they can grow and live and be healthy and happy as possible. That is our real challenge in life, not working for big business to manipulate public opinion, all just so they can squeeze us for every last cent and take our children's health and future away. Well you've probably already deleted this, but I hope if you read this you think about it, there are no second chances.

Thank you,
John Hammond
