NGO Asks EPA to Repeal Data Quality Act
The Center for Progressive Regulation asked EPA to deny a Data Quality Act petition filed by a trade association and paint company. The DQA petition argues that the Data Quality Act precludes EPA from approving certain state SIP amendments under the Clean Air Act. CPR's opposition to the petition includes a request that the EPA Administrator repeal the DQA at least with respect to rule makings, even though CPR acknowledges "that the Executive Branch is no more qualified to repeal the Act than it is to expand it far beyond its reasonable meaning...."
