GAO Reviewing Governmentwide IQA Compliance
The Government Accounting Office recently issued a report reviewing compliance with the Information Quality Act by the National Agricultural Statistics Service. The GAO recommended some changes to improve NASS' compliance with the IQA, especially with regard to transparency.

The government-wide significance of this report is its mere existence. The GAO report explains: "As part of our long-term examination of the collection, dissemination, and quality of federal information, we are reviewing the governmentwide implementation of the IQA." The GAO picked the NASS as an initial case study.

CRE welcomes GAO review of IQA compliance. It can only serve to improve the quality of information disseminated by the federal government agencies.
