OMB Disapproves FCC ICR
In performing their statutory duties under of the Paperwork Reduction, OMB disapproved a proposed FCC revision to an Information Collection Request regarding the terms under which cable television systems lease access to channels.
OMB cited several reasons for disapproving the FCC’s request including that the Commission had not: "demonstrated they have taken reasonable steps to minimize the burden on respondents who will be required to hire new staff...," or "demonstrated there are reasonable mechanisms in place to protect proprietary and confidential information respondents will be required to provide...."
OMB’s terms of the previous clearance of the leased access ICR remain in effect.
