EPA Extends Comment Periods for Draft NOX and SOX Documents
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has extended the public comment periods for three draft documents that are essential to the Agency’s review of the secondary (welfare based) national ambient air quality standards for nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide.

The three draft documents are entitled

(1) "Integrated Science Assessment for Oxides of Nitrogen and Sulfur—Environmental Criteria, second External Draft";

(2) "Annexes for the Integrated Science Assessment for Oxides of Nitrogen and Sulfur—Environmental Criteria, Second External Review Draft"; and

(3) Risk and Exposure Assessment for the Review of the Secondary National Ambient Air Quality Standards for Oxides of Nitrogen and Oxides of Sulfur.”

The comment period for documents 1 and 2 has been extended until October 10, 2008.

The comment period for document 3 has been extended until November 15, 2008.
