Agencies Publish Semiannual Regulatory Agendas
On January 8, 2013, most federal agencies will publish Federal Register notice of their semiannual regulatory agendas. These agendas are developed and published pursuant to Executive Order 12866, which is entitled "Regulatory Planning and Review," and in compliance with the Regulatory Flexibility Act. These agendas are usually published in the spring and fall of each year. They include an agenda of regulations which the publishing agency is developing or reviewing over the next 12 months. Rulemaking actions are grouped according to pre-rulemaking, proposed rules, final rules, long-term actions, and rulemaking actions completed since the spring 2012 agenda. The purpose of the agendas is to provide information to the public on regulations that are currently under review, being proposed, or issued by the publishing agencies. The agendas are intended to facilitate comments and views by interested members of the public.
