EPA Extends Comment Period for Proposed TSCA Rules Restricting Degreasers and Paint Removers
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has reopened the public comment period on two proposed rules under section 6 of the Toxic Substances Control Act. One of these proposed rules prohibited the use of trichloroethylene in vapor degreasing. The other included prohibition of the use of methylene chloride and N-methylpyrrolidone for most types of commercial paint and coating removal. EPA has extended the comment period for these two proposed rules until May 19, 2017.
